Eugenio Pisani ready to double his efforts with SP Racing

Eugenio Pisani has been an enthusiast of the GT Open Cup since its inception in 2019, always at the wheel of a Porsche 911 Cup ran almost independently, and has never ceased to make its operation grow. Last year, he started cooperating with Siliprandi Racing, an outfit with decades of experience in prototypes, touring and NASCAR cars.

For 2022, a further step will be taken, with the creation of SP Racing: “It will be the materialization of the cooperation between Siliprandi and Pisani”, explains the 31-year-old, “we will continue to be based near Mantua, and expand our presence in the GT Cup. We will have two cars full-season, and one of them will be a 911 Cup generation 2. The drivers are basically signed, but we will communicate the line-ups in a few days”.

Eugenio, a former GT Cup Champion in the Italian GT, will of course continue to be at the wheel of one of the cars: “I enjoy tremendously the series, it is the perfect ground for a driver like me. The calendar is perfectly balanced for someone having a busy professional life and the tracks are wonderful. There is a lot of track time and the costs, with five rounds, are still affordable. I am sure this year will be a great success, now that the worse of the pandemic is past and people want to race again and are not scared to travel. “

“What it’s really nice in the GT Cup”, he adds, “is the atmosphere. The series is professionally run but in a fair and friendly manner, and that reflects in everything, in the paddock, in the relationship among contenders and even with the stewards when you are summoned to race direction! There is respect and cooperation, and as a small team we have experienced that a few times: when we have needed a given tool or small part we wouldn’t have, we have always found a competitor ready to help.”
